ATLANTA -- LiquidLight, Inc., a leading developer of intelligent optical technology that spans from the core to the edge of the optical network, has received first-round financing totaling $9 million from Battery Ventures, a leading venture capital firm. LiquidLight will use the funding to accelerate development of its suite of products built on a unique IP-to-Optical convergence platform aimed at pushing intelligent technology to the edge of the optical network.

"The optical networking market is in its infancy, with most other company’s products to date focused on applying technology that optimizes specific congestion points within the optical network," said Scott Hardin, vice president of sales and marketing for LiquidLight. "LiquidLight fills a gap in the optical service provider’s portfolio, enabling new services by optimizing service delivery from the customer’s site to the network core."
