AMSTERDAM -- Latens and nCUBE today announce that Latens Content & Revenue security systems have been integrated with nCUBE’s On Demand video server and nABLE back office management software to provide digital cable and (Internet Protocol Television) IPTV operators with a proven and reliable On Demand system that protects video revenues and content owners intellectual property.

“By providing a ‘never in the clear’ VOD system, nCUBE and Latens simultaneously put content owners minds at rest while protecting the operators VOD revenues – and we do it efficiently, scalably and cost-effectively,” says (name and position), Latens. “It’s becoming increasingly common for content owners to insist on ‘never in the clear’ distribution for their content over VOD, so I expect our combined solution will be important in helping those deploying it to gain easier access to A-list content.”

This integration sees Latens Video Encryption Engine (VEE) and its Content and Revenue Protection systems integrated with nCUBE’s On Demand platform, so that VOD content is encrypted at every point of the cable and IPTV delivery chain. Latens VEE is an efficient and scalable 1U rack unit that encrypts the content and passes the encrypted video to the nCUBE On Demand platform for distribution to the consumer, where it is un-encrypted using Latens next generation client based Secure Software Modules. The nCUBE On Demand platform, including the nABLE back office management software and the On Demand server, is an interoperable and flexible platform that has the ability to add storage and capacity as content offerings and subscriber bases expand to grow with an operator through all phases of its On Demand deployment.

“Operators want a reliable and interoperable technology platform with the ability to protect their investment while keeping operational costs to a minumum,” said Ken Pike, General Manager, EMEA, nCUBE. ”This integration will protect existing On Demand revenues while giving operators a proven set of comprehensive and powerful On Demand management and technical business tools that will help continue to grow the business and allow operators to securely expand their On Demand content libraries.”
