MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. -- Vernier Networks, Inc., the leader in secure managed access for the enterprise wireless LAN, today announced it has been selected by Korea Telecom (KT) as the WLAN gateway provider for its Enterprise Nespot Solution. KT, Korea’s largest telecommunications provider, will use Vernier products as an important element of their end-to-end wired/wireless integration services. Korean enterprise customers who are deploying wireless LANs can now safely and easily address WLAN security and management issues with the Enterprise Nespot Solution.
“As the largest carrier in Korea, we have the highest per capita broadband deployment of any provider in Korea,” said Dr. Myeong-Yong Lee, director of the enterprise product division. “We are now entering a strategic phase of wireless deployment that involves implementing and promoting enterprise wired and wireless integration and hot spot service for large enterprises. Vernier Networks’ products will play an important role in assisting KT to become the leading wireless carrier in Korea.”
“KT reviewed offerings from leading vendors and selected Vernier because we provide the best architectural design for meeting enterprise-class WLAN needs,” said Matthew Powell, president and CEO of Vernier Networks. “KT’s customers will now be able to enhance their business productivity by implementing a secure, easily manageable and cost effective WLAN environment.”
Vernier’s CS6500 and AM6500 enterprise WLAN gateways are currently installed in the KT R&D Center in Seoul and Daeduck where they are controlling access, authenticating usage and supporting 1,200 wireless laptop and PDA users within the production network.
