Keopsys launches high-power EDFA, employing TeraXion filters, at OFC
March 18, 2002
ANAHEIM, Calif. -- OFC 2002 -- Keopsys, a designer and manufacturer of high performance fiber amplifiers, today announced the introduction of high power Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier for WDM applications from 23dBm up to 27dBm in the C-Band. A 25dBm version of this optical amplifier will be demonstrated at OFC 2002.HPFA Series amplifiers are enabled by Keopsys’ innovative VSP™ technology (V-groove Side Pumping). The VSP technology allows a very efficient coupling of high power diodes without the use of a WDM or bundle into a wide variety of doped fibers. Therefore, high efficiency, high output power, wide bandwidth, high level of integration and compact design are some of the key advantages for metro core or long-haul applications. The amplifiers are offered with a gain flatness of less than 1dB while employing TeraXion’s high performance gain flattening filters. "TeraXion GFFs are an ideal choice for our HPFA Series amplifiers because of their reliability under high-power illumination," says Marc Le Flohic, CEO of Keopsys. TeraXion, a technology leader in grating-based components, offers Telcordia qualified gain flattening filters with the most exact gain flattening in the industry.Julie Lemieux, European Sales Manager for TeraXion commented, "TeraXion is pleased to be working with leading innovators such as Keopsys. Their high performance amplification products offer a natural fit for our leading edge gain flattening elements."KeopsysTeraXionFor more information on OFC 2002, please visit: www.nottheofc.com
