NEC Electronics Corp. has been separated from NEC Corp. via 'corporate separation'

TOKYO -- NEC Electronics Corporation todayannounced that it has been separated from NEC Corporation by wayof corporate separation (kaisha bunkatsu), and is now a wholly ownedsubsidiary dedicated to providing semiconductor solutions tocustomers worldwide.Kaoru Tosaka, who previously held the position of Company Presidentat NEC Electron Devices, the former in-house company of NEC Corporationwas appointed president of NEC Electronics Corporation at the company’sboard meeting held in Japan earlier today. Joining him to manage thenew company are Kyoji Yamamoto and Hirokazu Hashimoto, executivevice presidents and members of the board; board member Shunichi Suzuki;and corporate auditors Jiro Takashima, Akio Kurosaka and Tomio Nakano.“Our long operating history, industry expertise and technicalcapabilities allow us to offer customers a broad range of solutions to meettheir specific needs, from designing, developing, manufacturing andservicing of custom semiconductors to providing standard semiconductorsolutions for a variety of applications,” said Mr. Tosaka. “We intend to furtheradvance our leading position as an innovative global provider of complexintegrated circuit solutions by developing a dynamic business model thatwill enable us to react quickly to customer and market requirements.”NEC Corp.
