SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- K2 Optronics, Inc., a leading developer of fiber-optic technologies for the telecommunications industry, today announced the appointment of Dr. Mark Zdeblick to chief technology officer, switch products, and Lew Stolpner to senior director. Dr. Zdeblick, an 18-year Micro Electro Mechanical Structures (MEMS) technology veteran, will head K2's optical switch program. Stolpner, with more than 15 years in fiber optics, will lead the company's optical laser efforts.

K2 also announced today it has made its Sunnyvale, Calif., offices -- 1288 Hammerwood Ave., in the heart of Silicon Valley -- as the company's corporate headquarters, which will include K2's executive staff as well as its administrative, engineering, marketing and sales departments. Additionally, the 15,000-square-foot facility will house limited manufacturing of K2 Optronics' optical switching subsystems. The company expects the Sunnyvale headquarters to be sufficient to house all its departments during its current growth stage.
