DUBLIN -- Leading provider of messaging solutions for the wireless communications industry, Jinny Software, has made significant strides during Q3 2004, increasing its overall market share across EMEA in the provision and upgrade of its messaging products for mobile operators. The company is now taking a strategic lead in the delivery of messaging and Value Added Services (VAS) solutions suited to wireless operators in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).

During Q3, four major EMEA mobile operators became new Jinny customers using the Jinny SMSC, with a further two leading operators adopting the Jinny MMSC to handle growing messaging demands across their networks.

In addition, several existing operator clients have placed orders for upgrades to their existing Jinny solution implementations, illustrating the scalability, robustness and feature-rich solutions offered by the company in the face of rapidly evolving wireless VAS and messaging/data trends.

One operator in sub-Saharan Africa has purchased a combined, all-in-one Jinny SMSC/MMSC along with additional operational modules, in an implementation where the operator required a compact, cost-effective, though highly scalable solution to meet all the messaging and VAS requirements of its current subscriber base. The solution will further be required to support major increases in traffic and VAS delivery demands in the future.

This ‘all-in-one’ implementation effectively signals the availability of Jinny’s new VAS2GO product suite, which has been launched for the benefit of small to medium-sized network operators with the requirement to expand their existing messaging systems, in a cost-effective way.

Jinny’s new sister product, the VAS2GO Plus, offers a similar all-in-one solution, although is more suited to networks where operators are experiencing enormous jumps in VAS data traffic, such as those of Central and Eastern Europe. In addition to core messaging nodes, it includes content management and routing technology, particularly suited to VAS data management.

Max Wilkie, CEO of Jinny Software, commented, “Our latest successes and new business strategy for Central and Eastern Europe, come at a time when several markets across this region are experiencing major increases in VAS and data service traffic. The VAS figures for the Russian market alone, predicted by iKS-Consulting* to reach US$1.5billion in 2005, are extremely exciting. Russia, however, is not the only market in the region where VAS and messaging/data services are on the increase.

“For these reasons, operators both large and small now have the requirement to introduce or improve their VAS handling capabilities. As a result, Jinny has ramped up its business activities in Central and Eastern Europe and introduced our new product bundles to suit everyone in the region,” Wilkie concluded.
