As a consequence, Raman amplifiers are still not cost effective and most designers are looking for alternatives that could bring significant cost reductions. ITF’s Depolarizers solve this problem by scrambling the polarizations therefore reducing both the design complexity and the required part count. "Amplifiers based on the Raman effect have proven to be an enabler of ultra long-haul and high-speed telecommunication systems, but have had limited deployment to date.
