REHOVOT, Israel -- IPClock Ltd., a leading provider of clock synchronization over packetproducts, announced today that ZTE Corporation has selected IPClock’s IEEE1588v2 Slave and Masterproducts to synchronize ZTE’s Pico and Femto WiMAX base station product lines.

ZTE is a world famous telecommunication solution provider, and its WiMAX solution has already beendeployed in 26 countries by more than 40 operators. The indoor and outdoor Pico cells E9200/E9201 areusing IEEE1588v2 clock synchronization over packet connecting to ZTE’s TPS10 IEEE1588v2 Servers. Theinnovative solution can save both the GPS receiver expense and operating expense, significantly increasingthe competitive advantage of the operators.

"Operators can benefit from ZTE WiMAX solutions with built-in IEEE1588v2 synchronization modules,” saidZhao Song Pu, ZTE’s WiMAX General Manager. “And IPClock’s IEEE1588v2 modules provide excellentperformance with great flexibility.”

”In the past year, 1588v2 received major recognition by both Tier 1 mobile operators and vendors as thenear unanimous standard for clock synchronization over Ethernet in Mobile Backhaul networks," statedMichael Howard, Co-Founder and Principal Analyst at Infonetics Research. “However, the 1588v2 standardprovides no information about how clock recovery should be implemented, so clock recovery quality is amajor issue even though 1588v2 is being deployed in live networks. The bottom line is that 1588v2 has littlevalue unless it provides the requisite clock quality for both FDD and TDD."

“We are very proud to have ZTE as our customer,” said Motti Goren, CEO at IPClock. “ZTE is a worldwidemarket leader, and their endorsement of IPClock technology and products highlights IPClock’s increasingcompetitive advantage in the growing global clock synchronization market.”
