Capitalization-challenged iolon unveils its first widely tunable laser with 25 GHz channel density
March 18, 2002
SAN JOSE, Calif. -- iolon, Inc., a designer and manufacturer of tunable optical devices, has announced that its ApolloTM line of high-powered, widely tunable external cavity lasers can now support 25 GHz channel density. This increased density allows service providers to access over 200 channels in the C-Band as well as over 200 channels in the L-Band."The extension of iolon's tunable laser product line to include 25 GHz channel spacing has been requested by our customers to support their strategies for next-generation network equipment," said John Clark, President, CEO and Chairman of iolon. "The availability of 25 GHz channel spacing highlights the advanced, integrated wavelength locker technology iolon incorporates into each Apollo laser module, providing better than +/- 1 GHz frequency accuracy over the entire tuning and operating temperature range. Furthermore, the fact that iolon's laser is continuously tunable made this achievement possible without any changes to the external laser cavity itself."With output power greater than 20mW and tuning over 200 channels at 25 GHz spacing in both the C-Band and L-Band, iolon's tunable laser offering delivers the highest level of optical performance and tunability in the industry.Iolon Inc.
