LUMBERTON, N.J. -- INRANGE Technologies (Nasdaq: INRG - news), the world leader in high-end scalable storage networking solutions, will present the industry's first 256-port Fibre Channel director at CeBIT 2002 (Hannover, Germany, March 13-20).

With four times the capacity of any director or switch product currently shipping, the newest model of the IN-VSN(TM) FC/9000(TM) provides users with a fully redundant, non-blocked switching core on which to manage and expand storage networks simply. In addition to its world-class storage area network (SAN) solutions, INRANGE will feature networking solutions that address the growing storage challenges facing today's IT organizations, while providing investment protection and a proven foundation for future growth. The 256-port Fibre Channel director will be on display at the main INRANGE booth in Hall 1, Stand 7i3. INRANGE's "core-to-edge-to-anywhere" solutions will also be featured in the Fibre Channel Industry Association (FCIA) Solutions Pavilion in Hall 16, Stand 34. At this additional site, INRANGE will demonstrate storage over WAN solutions, including the intermix of 1Gb and 2Gb technology. "Fibre Channel is well accepted in today's large IT shops for building SANs and for centralizing storage and storage management. Now, users are examining ways to interconnect existing SANs and build larger infrastructures," stated Arun Taneja, Senior Analyst, Enterprise Storage Group. "It is impractical to build these infrastructures with the existing low port count directors. The fact that INRANGE can provide users with a 64-port director that can seamlessly scale to 256-ports today will go a long way in paving the way to gigantic SANs resulting in simplified management and cost benefits."
