WASHINGTON -- InPhonic, Inc., a leading provider of wireless voice and data communication solutions, announced today that it has named Lawrence Winkler, a seasoned telecommunications corporate financial executive, as Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President. Mr. Winkler brings to InPhonic a wealth of experience in driving corporate growth and over a decade of solid global executive leadership. He comes to InPhonic from Stanmore Capital, a private equity and M&A advisory firm. Mr. Winkler has effectively led organizations in a wide range of corporate stages, including Fortune 500, turnarounds, acquisitions, divestures, mergers and initial public offerings. He has participated in raising over $10 billion in financing transactions and completing over $8 billion in acquisitions, dispositions and mergers.

Previously, Winkler served as President and Chief Operating Officer at OmniSky Corporation, a wireless software company that was acquired by Earthlink (NASDAQ: ELNK), where he helped grow the company to a multinational corporation with more than 350 employees. Additionally, Winkler has held various executive leadership positions and has effectively led the domestic and international operations for numerous other public and private companies including PSINet, Inc., Black & Decker (NYSE: BDK), C.R.I. Inc, Arthur Andersen LLP and Merrill Lynch (NYSE: MER).

Winkler serves on several boards of private companies and charitable organizations including the Board of Trustees for the National Foundation for the Advancement of the Arts.
