PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Innovance Networks, a privately-held optical networking company, isannouncing the global commercial availability of the world’s first complete agile, photonic networking solution forlong-haul, inter-city networks. The AgileCore™ suite of products addresses the immediate needs of service providerswho are looking to reduce expenditures while migrating to next-generation networks. The product line brings togethertransparent switching, dynamic ‘all reach’ transport, and full spectrum tunable technology with a real-time photoniclayer operating system to deliver an ‘automated’ photonic network offering fast, touchless bandwidth delivery whileproviding up to 70% reduction in capital and operational costs.“Service Providers are under tremendous pressure faced with increasing price and service delivery expectations, together with the need to deliver improved profits and free cash flow from network operations,” said Peter Allen,President & Chief Executive Officer, Innovance Networks. “Our solution addresses these needs and providescustomers with a platform that delivers significant capital and operational savings, accelerates service provisioning, and offers seamless migration from today’s point-to-point networks.”The Innovance Networks AgileCore solution is an open, modular platform that can be deployed on a route-by-routebasis and scale in-service to a full agile, photonic network. The elements within the AgileCore product suiteinclude:

  • o Transparent Photonic Switch (TPX 1000) which enables the per-wavelength management oftraffic through the node and eliminates the need for expensive, electrical to optical conversionson express connections.
o Dynamic Line System (DLS 1000) provides the network reach and the ‘touchless’, point-to-any-point connection set up capability necessary in a dynamic, transparent network.
o Tunable Photonic Gateway (TPG 1000) to eliminate the complexity associated with wavelengthplanning and engineering in today’s networks and to enable dynamic connection activation.
o Network Operating System (NOS) is an integrated wavelength routing, engineering andactivation software system enabling automated connection provisioning.
o Management System (MS) that streamlines the carriers’ back-office and simplifies day-to-daynetwork management tasks, providing added operations efficiency.
o Planning & Engineering Center provides a simple and efficient mechanism for designing andimplementing an Agile Photonic Network.
