IceFyre Semiconductor has completed interoperability testing of its 802.11 chipset family

OTTAWA -– IceFyreTM Semiconductor, Inc., today announced that is has successfully completed interoperability testing of its 802.11 chipset family. In conjunction with the Wireless Consortium at the University of New Hampshire’s InterOperability Laboratory (UNH-IOL), IceFyre conducted tests that demonstrate the interoperability of IceFyre’s 802.11a full system and PHY-only solutions with common WLAN platforms. IceFyre will demonstrate the industry’s best performing, most power efficient interoperable WLAN systems in private demonstrations during the Wi-Fi Planet Conference and Expo in San Jose, Calif., December 2 – 5, 2003.

“The testing performed at the University of New Hampshire’s advanced wireless laboratory demonstrates the interoperability of our SureFyre 802.11a chipset with commercially available WLAN platforms,” said Dan Mathers, president and chief executive officer, IceFyre Semiconductor Inc. “Proving interoperability of our full system and PHY-only solutions gives our customers ultimate flexibility in developing differentiated high-performance, highly-efficient 802.11a-based WLAN products.”
