Huawei selected as 3G strategic partner by Singapore's StarHub

SINGAPORE -- Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. ("Huawei"), a leader in providing next-generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, today announced that StarHub Ltd, Singapore's leading info-communication company, has selected Huawei to provide Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS)/High-Speed Packet Access (HSPA) solutions as well as support the future upgrades of its 3G mobile network in Singapore.

Under the agreement, Huawei will provide its innovative distributed Node Bs to help StarHub deliver the full capabilities of HSDPA (high-speed downlink packet access) across the island this year.
