Huawei and Intel to cooperate to build WiMax carrier-grade wireless broadband network

SHANGHAI -- Huawei Technologies and Intel today announced that they will cooperate in building carrier-grade wireless broadband networks supporting the new WiMAX / IEEE 802.16 standards and specifications.
The two companies will work closely to develop a broad range of new high-speed broadband wireless technologies and lead subsequent developments in the broadband wireless industries.

Intel is the world's leading chip maker, and this partnership will speed up the establishment of wireless broadband networks and promote the development of the wireless broadband implementation globally," said Guo Zhiyan, GM, Broadband Wireless Division, Huawei Technologies.
