MaxLinear MxL267 full-spectrum Capture receiver powers Hitron’s DOCSIS 3.0 cable gateway family

CARLSBAD, Calif. -- MaxLinear, Inc. (NYSE: MXL), a leading provider of integrated radio frequency (RF) and mixed-signal integrated circuits for broadband communications applications, today announced that Hitron Technologies Americas, a global telecommunications networking company, has selected the MxL267 Full-Spectrum Capture (FSCTM) digital cable front-end receiver for a new family of DOCSIS 3.0 cable modems and gateways.First in Hitron’s new cable gateway family, the CGN3, recently achieved certification from CableLabs®. The CGN3 is a high-speed gateway designed using the MxL267 receiver to deliver speeds of up to 960Mbps via 24 bonded downstream channels over its DOCSIS interface.The CGN3 also features an integrated four-port Gigabit Ethernet switch and 802.11n 3X3 Dual Band MIMO Access Point for fast and easy home networking. The CGN3 supports full IPv4 and IPv6 routing. For security, the gateway features a firewall for Internet security, as well as pre-configured and pre-enabled Wi-Fi security via Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS), allowing end users to rapidly set up a secure wireless network without manual configuration.Furthermore, the CGN3 gateway delivers extensive network service and feature controls, including remote network monitoring and spectrum analysis, which simplifies deployment and maintenance by cable operators.
