Japan's largest Internet service provider turns to GRIC for WiFi

MILPITAS, Calif. and TOKYO -- GRIC Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: GRIC), a leading provider of Internet-based mobile office communications services, today announced that NIFTY Corporation, the Internet services company with the largest subscriber base in Japan, has extended its relationship with GRIC to provide wireless 802.11b Wi-Fi capabilities to its five million subscribers.GRIC, which has provided a variety of remote access and mobile office services to @nifty since 1997, will now enable @nifty to offer its consumer and corporate customers secure wireless access to the Internet from areas such as hotels, airports, cafes, and universities.GRIC has recently announced agreements with Singapore Telecommunications, Ltd.
