NEW DELHI, India and ACCRA, Ghana -- Glenayre Messaging is expanding its international presence with the opening of new offices in New Delhi and Accra. The Company, a division of Glenayre Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: GEMS), is a global leader in providing next-generation messaging solutions and enhanced services to mobile and fixed line telecommunications carriers and cable companies.

The opening of the new offices follows a period of unparalleled international growth for Glenayre Messaging. In 2005 the Company grew its business revenue outside the Americas to almost three times what is was in 2004, which accounted for nearly 33 percent of Glenayre Messaging’s total revenue in 2005.

“The Indian telecommunications industry is one of the earliest adopters of new technology, and we see great potential for our products in this region,” said Jugad Singh Bawa, Glenayre’s regional sales manager in India. “India is on the threshold of moving to 3G, and as one of the leading 3G messaging solutions providers, Glenayre is ideally placed to ensure that the people of India get the latest, cutting-edge technology. New Delhi is the ideal location from which Glenayre can continue to grow, not only in the Indian market, but also in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bhutan.”

The opening of the new office in Ghana follows the rapid growth of Glenayre’s business in Africa – in just two years, Glenayre’s subscriber base in Africa has grown substantially. The company has appointed Jean Marc Rhainds as Regional Sales Manager West Africa. A veteran of the African market, Mr. Rhainds has more than 20 years’ experience in 15 countries on the continent.

“West Africa is set to be one of the fastest growing telecommunications markets in the world,” said Mr. Rhainds. “Glenayre is not just another vendor looking to sell products in the African market, we are seeking in-depth partnerships with leading African operators to develop value-added solutions that fit specific market needs. Glenayre’s intention is to open strategic offices as market demands require and as we grow our African footprint.”
