Gemtek Enables Eurospots

AMSTERDAM and GENEVA -- Swisscom Eurospot, Europe's leading provider of Wireless broadband Internet access for business travellers (Public WLAN services) and Gemtek Systems, the global leader in providing solutions for public Internet access using WiFi radio network technology, have announced the completion of a frame agreement. The subject matter of the agreement is the supply by Gemtek Systems of WiFi access enabler. These components allow Swisscom Eurospot to offer even more straightforward Internet access to its customers and a superior business model to its partners.

Swisscom Eurospot, which offers the largest, international WLAN network in Europe using hotspots in the United Kingdom, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Spain, Italy and Ireland, will commission the “T-316 Smart WLAN Client” from Gemtek Systems at all its European locations. The T-316 is a smart wireless adapter box, which can be connected to the network port of a laptop without the need for any driver installation. It is supplied with power from the USB connection in the laptop and does not require an external power supply, thus making the end user’s connectivity to public radio networks a truly wireless experience. Through the use of an optimised antenna, the “T-316 Smart WLAN Client” can always guarantee the best possible reception and signal quality. Gemtek Systems’ T-316 allows the business traveller Internet access in seconds without almost any installation or compatibility problems and in just a few simple steps. The user friendliness of Gemtek Systems’ solution, designed to allow straightforward access for the customers of the Public WLAN services of Swisscom Eurospot, can be beneficial also for Eurospot’s location partners, such as famous hotels, conference centres and airports.
