BIRMINGHAM, U.K. -- Fujitsu Telecommunications Europe Ltd, the leading supplier of high performance telecommunications solutions, is to stage the world launch of its latest MSAN technology developments at the Broadband World Forum Europe event (Venice, September 20 - 23), exhibiting on Stand No. 1110. Fujitsu is showing its GeoStream Access Gateway Hub 1000, the company's next-generation Multi-Service Access Node (MSAN), which is capable of supporting thousands of broadband users on a single ATM/Ethernet network interface. Currently the world's most advanced DSL platform, GeoStream Access Gateway Hub 1000 is designed to provide operators with the optimum cost-effective technology on which to build 21st century networks.
Fujitsu's new MSAN will be demonstrated alongside the comprehensive line-up of copper and fibre access solutions within the GeoStream Access Gateway portfolio, highlighting the inherent flexibility of the product concept. Fujitsu is placing a major focus on multi-service access convergence for the provision of future services, highlighting in particular:
Bandwidth provisioning in a managed access solution
Video streaming over GeoStream Access Gateway
Voice over IP services, based on the broadband voice service deployed by Fujitsu and MetaSwitch for BT in the United Kingdom
Video on Demand, including integration with third party middleware
Migration of baseband PSTN services onto the platform
Aggregation of traffic for cost effective backhaul
Fujitsu's modular, multi-service GeoStream Access Gateway Hub 1000 combines industry-leading operational flexibility and scalability, with multiple cost-saving attributes - driving down the cost per line to the absolute minimum.
