Fujitsu announced that Jim Hintze has been promoted to senior VP of marketing and Hans Roehrig has been promoted to senior VP of operations

RICHARDSON, Texas -- Fujitsu Network Communications Inc., a leading supplier of IT and wireline/wireless networking solutions, today announced that Jim Hintze has been promoted to senior vice president of marketing where he will oversee business management, marketing communications, market development, proposals, media/analyst relations and competitive intelligence. Hans Roehrig has also been promoted to senior vice president of operations and manufacturing and will be responsible for managing elements of the state-of-the-art manufacturing and operations processes used by Fujitsu Network Communications. Hans is replacing Don Blackwood, who retired on March 31, 2006. Both executives will be located at company headquarters in Richardson, Texas.

As Fujitsu expands into new markets such as the federal government and utilities, Jim’s leadership and experience will allow our marketing programs to accelerate our growth in these markets,” said George Chase, group president and chief operating officer of Fujitsu Network Communications. “We regard manufacturing as a key strategic advantage that Fujitsu has over its competition. Hans will be able to leverage his experience in both operations and sales to drive new efficiencies and responsiveness, while maintaining our high quality levels and allowing us to continue to produce industry-leading products.”

Senior Vice President of MarketingJim’s career in telecommunications began in 1989 at AT&T Network Systems (now Lucent Technologies) in corporate marketing. In the early 1990s, Jim moved into transmission systems sales to US WEST (now Qwest). Throughout the 1990s, his responsibilities expanded to include all wireline, wireless and professional services as vice president of sales.

Since joining Fujitsu in 1997, Jim has held numerous sales leadership roles, including regional sales responsibilities for customers such as AT&T and Qwest, as well as North American sales management for the U.S. and Mexico. Under Jim’s leadership, Fujitsu expanded sales efforts into several new markets including cable/MSOs, wireless, enterprise, federal government and utilities through direct sales and an expanded channel partner program.

Jim holds a bachelor of science degree in marketing from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He has also attended the University of Oxford in England.

Hans Roehrig
Senior Vice President of Operations and ManufacturingHans has 19 years of telecommunications experience. He joined Fujitsu in 1991 as a sales manager focused on the western region of the United States, and subsequently has held a number of positions with increasing responsibilities, including director of sales in the western region and vice president for eastern U.S. sales. In 1997, Hans was the recipient of the President’s Award from Fujitsu for outstanding sales achievement.

Hans has been vice president of operations for the past two years, and previously was vice president of business management and market development where he was responsible for revenue and margin forecasting, pricing strategies and contract negotiations in addition to sales support functions.

Hans holds a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Wash., and a masters degree in business administration from the University of Texas at Dallas in Richardson, Texas.
