NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. -- FONS Corporation, a leading provider of fiber optic components and interconnect solutions, announces the introduction of its new line of Entrance Splice Cabinets (ESC), further broadening the company's extensive fiber management product offering. FONS' ESC products augment the company's other high-density product lines to provide complete end-to-end plug and play solutions for all network applications, including Fiber-to-the-Curb (FTTC) and Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH). FONS' Entrance Splice Cabinets are water and dust resistant and are used for splicing optical fiber cables at building entrances. Mounted on a wall in a cable vault or in an alternative cable entrance facility, the ESC products provide for transition splicing between outside plant (OSP) cables to building cables, then routed to fiber distribution frames or equipment. Splices are stored in modular slide-out splice trays, accommodating up to 864 individual splices or 2,592 mass fusion splices. Any combination of individual fusion trays and mass fusion trays, up to a total of 36 trays, can be arranged within the highest capacity ESC cabinet. "We continually strive to exceed the ever-increasing customer demands for higher density, improved ease of installation, and enhanced cable management for all applications," states Michael J. Noonan, President and CEO of FONS' Entrance Splice Cabinets. Fiber Optic Network Solutions Corp. (FONS)
