RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. -- Ascom (US) Inc., a leading developer of on-site wireless communications solutions, is pleased to announce that Federal Network Services, Inc. has agreed to become a Gold Level Certified Solution Partner. Federal Network Services, a leader in unified communications, information security and network integration, has agreed to offer its customers Ascom’s FreeNET VoWiFi system and UNITE Messaging Suite.

The Ascom FreeNET standards-based solution consists of market-specific VoWiFi portable handsets, a robust messaging engine, VoIP Gateway for integration with an existing PBX and supports IEEE standards, including 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11e (Quality of Service), and 802.11i (Security). The FreeNET platform enables hospital-wide voice and messaging communication on a hospital’s existing WLAN.

The UNITE Messaging Suite consists of embedded computing appliances running Ascom software applications utilizing a Linux kernel providing unparalleled reliability. The UNITE Messaging Suite enables integration with a broad range of both clinical and non-clinical systems.
