Optical subassembly manufacturer releases multi-rate CWDM SFP transceivers with digital diagnostics
December 24, 2003
SANTA CLARA -- Fiberxon Inc., a U.S.-based optical subassembly manufacturer is now shipping in production volumes Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP) optical transceivers for coarse wavelength-division multiplexing (CWDM) applications. The transceivers are available in 8 ITU-compliant CWDM wavelengths from 1470 nm to 1610 nm with a link budget of 28dB. Using an un-cooled DFB laser, 3.3volt power supply and offer very low jitter and power dissipation. Built in Digital Diagnostics function and color coding by wavelength for easy identification. They Support 1.25 Gb/s Gigabit Ethernet, 2.5 Gb/s STM-16/OC-48, and 2.67 Gb/s STM-16/OC-48 with FEC, and multi-rate from 155Mb/s to 2.67Gb/s, the transceivers achieve transmission distances of 50 km with a PIN photodiode receiver or 80 km with an APD. Ideal for Metro access rings and point-to-point networking for SONET, Gigabit Ethernet and Fibre Channel. These CWDM transceivers extend Fiberxon Inc. broad portfolio of MSA compliant transceivers.
