Fibera introduces athermal 25, 50, 100 GHz spacing wavelength lockers at OFC
March 14, 2002
SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Fibera Inc. today announced its family of athermal Fabry-Perot wavelength lockers with 25, 50 and 100 GHz spacing aligned to ITU grid for laser wavelength stabilization in fiber-optic communication systems. The need to pack more and more wavelengths into a single fiber requires that these wavelengths be controlled and separated from each other with a high degree of accuracy to avoid channel-to-channel cross talk. Wavelength lockers are such a device to “lock“ each laser to the ITU grid separated by 25, 50 and 100 GHz respectively. Although 50 and 100 GHz spaced lockers have been available, Fibera is proud to announce the first 25 GHz athermal locker achieving 1.25 GHz accuracy and ITU calibration offset less than 1.25 GHz. The superior stability and calibration-offset performance, derived from patent pending technology, exceed the requirements of 25 GHz DWDM fiber-optic communication systems. The 25, 50 and 100 GHz spacing wavelength lockers are available for order from Fibera Inc. representatives and distributors. Fibera Inc. will demonstrate 25 and 50 GHz lockers using a leading commercial tunable laser during the upcoming OFC in booth #2660.
