Ex-Redback Chief Joins Atrica

Atrica names Vivek Ragavan its president and CEO

SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Atrica Inc., poised to be the leading provider of Optical Ethernet equipment for the $15 billion Metro networking market, today announced the appointment of Vivek Ragavan, the former CEO of Redback Networks and Siara Systems (acquired by Redback in 1999) to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of Atrica. Founding CEO of Atrica, Avinoam Rubinstain, will become Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President, Product Development and Supply Chain. Ragavan brings to Atrica more than 20 years of experience in building successful, carrier-focused companies. Prior to joining Atrica, Ragavan spent two years as CEO and COO of Redback Networks. He joined Redback from Siara Systems where, as CEO, he was responsible for the successful development of Siara's next-generation SONET product line and for the sale of Siara to Redback for $4.5 billion.
