AdaptiveMobile signs deal with Etisalat to offer spam protection to UAE mobile phone users

DUBLIN -- Etisalat, (www.etisalat.ae) theMiddle East's leading telecommunications company based in the UnitedArab Emirates, today announced it will launch a new anti-spam servicethat provides its customers additional protection against theinconvenience caused by un-solicited SMS messages (SPAM) received fromoverseas sources.

The service is delivered by a software package called 'PolicyFilterSMS', from AdaptiveMobile (www.adaptivemobile.com) that filters allShort Message Service (SMS) received by Etisalat's network from overseassources, which aim to target Etisalat's 6.4 million users. The productidentifies any International Incoming SMS traffic considered as SPAMthat could impact Etisalat's customers, causing inconvenience to theindividual and a degradation of the quality of service delivered by theEtisalat network. The implementation in Etisalat's network ensures itscustomers are proactively protected from international SMS SPAM. Thesolution has been customised for the Arabian market using both Arabicand English languages.
