Ericsson selected by Dialog Telekom for its 3G/HSPA network in Sri Lanka

STOCKHOLM -- Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) has been chosen as the lead partner for building Dialog Telekom's 3G/HSPA network in Sri Lanka.
Dialog's 3G/HSPA rollout, the first in the South Asian region, will see Ericsson provide the entire core network, as well as supply the majority of the radio access network.
Dialog's 3G service rollout will enable mobile users to experience a full service broadband, and a range of media-rich services such as video telephony, mobile TV streaming, IP telephony, and GPS-based services. The 3G service rollout will further strengthen Dialog's position as Sri Lanka's most innovative and futuristic service provider.
Amarjeet Singh, managing director, Ericsson Sri Lanka, says: "Dialog is driving the growth of the telecom industry in Sri Lanka. We respect their thorough professionalism and commitment as the first 3G operator in the region. We will continue to support them to make sure we have a world-class 3G network in Sri Lanka."
