LONDON -- Empower Interactive, the trusted supplier of mobile data services infrastructure products for mobile operators, has been selected to join the IBM Service Provider Delivery Environment (SPDE) programme.

The SPDE Global Partner Network comprises leading developers, telecoms and network equipment providers who test and validate a variety of applications for compatibility and ease of integration within the SPDE framework.

Its solutions are based on open industry and IT standards, and are designed to give fixed and wireless telecoms service providers the flexibility to introduce new, revenue-generating voice, text and Internet services to their customers faster, easier and at a lower cost. In fact, research has shown that operators implementing SPDE solutions make cost savings in the region of 20-30%.

Empower Interactive is skilled in enabling mobile operators and service providers to advance their mobile data services, by providing infrastructure products to manage and deliver applications and content on mobile networks. It already works with many of the world’s leading operators, including Orange, WIND, Smart, Starhub and TIM S.p.A. It is this expertise that the company will be bringing to the SPDE programme.

Richard Shearer, CEO of Empower Interactive, said: “Speed and cost are two of the most important critical success factors for operators looking to bring new revenue-generating services to market in the current climate. The IBM SPDE programme has a vital role to play in enabling new products and services to be introduced in a matter of days or weeks, not months. We look forward to working with the other members of the programme to encourage and foster further innovation in this sector.”
