BURLINGTON, Mass. -- EM4, Inc., an emerging force in contract design and manufacturing services for photonics and integrated optics, today announced that it has raised $8 million in a Series B private equity financing round led by Baker Capital of New York. Other investors include Rustic Canyon of Santa Monica, California, and CapMan Ventures of Helsinki.

EM4's core capabilities include the design, development, full-scale production and reliability testing of integrated active devices including directly modulated lasers, photodiode receivers, transceivers, pump lasers and amplifiers. By partnering with EM4, companies can focus valuable resources on product innovation, marketing, and distribution with confidence that the supply of the most critical optoelectronic components in their systems and networks is reliable and cost-effective.
