Ample Communications signs with El-Gev Electronics to distribute its Frame Processing silicon solutions to the Israeli market

FREMONT, Calif. -- Ample Communications, pioneer of Frame Processing silicon solutions for high-speed network systems, today announced that it has finalized a sales and distribution agreement with El-Gev Electronics Ltd., a leading reseller of electronics and fiber optic components and modules to the Israeli data communications, networking and telecommunications marketplace.
El-Gev will distribute Ample Communications’ entire line of highly integrated Ethernet and SONET/SDH Frame Processor silicon devices in Israel and throughout the region, through its professional and highly skilled sales and application support organization. El-Gev customers in the regional industrial, military and aerospace markets now have easy access to Ample Communications’ technology for high-speed data network system development.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade in Jerusalem, Israel boasts 4,000 high-tech companies. Israel’s answer to Silicon Valley, the area is dubbed Silicon Wadi (in Arabic, wadi means “dry river bed”) and is the largest producer of Internet technologies outside of the United States.

Ample Communications’ merchant silicon solutions are used in the development of high-speed, high-performance switching and routing solutions targeted for the enterprise and metropolitan area network equipment markets. The company’s silicon solutions are used by network system OEMs to efficiently design next-generation speeds and densities into line cards that can be used in existing network systems – an approach that resonates well with today’s enterprise and carrier customers that are tasked with maximizing ROI from their existing equipment.
