Eblana Photonics gains new funding from ACT Venture Capital and Enterprise Ireland, bringing total to €3.6M

DUBLIN -- Eblana Photonics, a newly established provider of advanced laser communications products, has announced new funding that brings its total investment to EUR 3.6 million in just over one year.Eblana Photonics is a spin out from Trinity College Dublin, the Irish National Microelectronics Research Centre and Enterprise Ireland, who are shareholders in the company. Other investment in the Company comes from a combination of Irish and US private equity sources. The new funding is being provided by ACT Venture Capital and Enterprise Ireland.According to James O'Gorman, CEO Eblana Photonics, "With this latest funding we will begin moving our products from development into manufacturing and onward into the market. These products will allow communications service providers to economically deliver an exciting range of new bandwidth hungry services to private consumers and smaller enterprises; services such as downstreamed video, interactive video conferencing and video telephony and other new applications that we can barely imagine today".Eblana Photonics Ltd.
