DPAC Gets Airborne Orders

DPAC Technologies receives first purchase orders for its Airborne 802.11b Wireless LAN Node Module Evaluation and Development Kits

GARDEN GROVE, Calif. -- Following a successful exhibition during the three-day Sensors Expo in Anaheim, CA, DPAC Technologies(R) (DPAC) (NASDAQ:DPAC) today announces it has received purchase orders for the Airborne(TM) 802.11b Wireless LAN Node Module Evaluation and Development Kits from several customers. Along with the Evaluation and Development Kits, customers also purchased additional samples of the Airborne Module for their development work.

"As customers find a need to web-enable their products, we anticipate that the advantages of the Airborne(TM) technology will quickly become apparent," said Brett Trowbridge, vice president of marketing. "These initial orders for our development kit and WI-FI module from our new customers are key steps that will lead to design wins."

The recent Sensors Expo and Convention in Anaheim, CA, was attended by over 3,000 senior-level buyers and design engineers from a wide range of industries that included medical instrumentation and monitoring, manufacturing automation, point-of-sale, building controls, process controls, automotive diagnostics, and industrial controls which represent key targeted vertical markets for the Airborne product. DPAC representatives received additional orders for the Evaluation and Development Kits, and plan to continue building the pipeline for future shipments through the fourth quarter of 2003. DPAC plans to continue its marketing campaign with several exhibitions scheduled through the remainder of 2003 and 2004.
