Digiweb Ireland purchases Airspan's WipLL equipment

BOCA RATON, Fla. -— Airspan Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: AIRN), a leading worldwide provider of broadband wireless access networks, including WiMAX standard systems, today announced the signing of an extensive agreement with Digiweb Ltd. of Ireland to supply its WipLL wireless multipoint platform for the nationwide extension of Digiweb’s broadband services. Initial shipments will be completed by the end of July 2005, with significant ongoing business projected over the coming years.

Digiweb is one of Ireland’s fastest growing communications companies. Founded in 1997 and privately owned and funded, Digiweb was recently selected by the Irish Government to provide Broadband access to over 1,600 schools throughout Ireland as part of a 3 year project.

More recently Digiweb has successfully acquired Tiscali’s Italian Satellite Broadband Customer base, which expands Digiweb’s footprint throughout Europe.

Digiweb’s WipLL broadband wireless network will operate in the 3.4 – 3.8 GHz and 5.8GHz bands, with dedicated customer links offering a variety of service speeds. Digiweb’s customers span all sectors including Government, Corporate and Residential in Ireland and Europe.
