CoSine Communications strengthens management team with appointment of key sales, engineering executives

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. -- CoSine Communications Inc., (Nasdaq: COSN), a leading provider of managed, network-based IP Service Delivery Platforms for service providers, today announced the appointment of Gregory Partalis as senior vice president of worldwide sales and Robert Iannucci as senior vice president of engineering. "Greg and Bob have both amassed remarkable career achievements in working with both emerging and established technology companies," said Steve Goggiano, CoSine's president and chief executive officer. "Their impressive sales and technical knowledge will help CoSine create new domestic and international sales opportunities and build on our success in developing powerful intelligent network edge devices." Greg Partalis comes to CoSine from Calient Networks, where as vice president of sales, he was tasked with building the Calient sales team, directing worldwide sales strategy, and developing key service provider accounts. Prior to joining Calient, Partalis was with Nortel Networks. As their vice president of government, educational and utilities vertical, Partalis was responsible for the sales of Nortel's voice, data, and campus optical products to the U.S. federal government, state and local governments, major tier-1 universities and major power utilities in North America. Robert Iannucci joins CoSine from Compaq Computer Corporation, where he was vice president of corporate research. In this role, Iannucci had overall responsibility for Compaq's three research labs and was chartered with the creation of new technologies in core computing, human-computer interaction, and the Internet. Iannucci also directed Compaq's Cambridge Research Laboratory (CRL), one of three Compaq corporate research laboratories worldwide. There, he led the company's research development efforts in scalable computing and wireless systems as well as initiating new projects in mobile computing and multimedia indexing.
