HAMBURG, Germany -- CoreMedia, the global provider of software solutions for convergent content business, today announced that its leading interoperable DRM platform now supports embedded Watermarking for mobile Music. CoreMedia supports the leading Watermarking technology by MusicTrace, a successful Fraunhofer Institute spin-off. With embedded Watermarking it is possible to transmit audio files like MP3s with additional un-removable and imperceptible information, e.g. a transaction number - wireless or fixed line.

With this addition, CoreMedia offers a smart, open and unbeaten interoperable technology for secure end-to-end content distribution. CoreMedia now complements DRM technology for OMA 1.0 and 2.0, Windows Media DRM with MusicTrace Watermarking. Watermarking for other formats will be supported as well.

"With the support of MusicTrace's Watermarking CoreMedia emphasizes its leading position for interoperable, people-centric content technology", said Willms Buhse, Executive Director CoreMedia. "For us it is important to deliver an open technology and to enable our customers to create new business models".
