Convergys to assume operation of Avaya global employee service operations in EMEA and Asia/Pacific

CINCINNATI and BASKING RIDGE, N.J. -- Convergys Corporation (NYSE: CVG) and Avaya Inc. (NYSE: AV) today announced that Convergys will assume operation of Avaya's global employee service operations serving EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) and Asia Pacific. In addition, Avaya will sign a multi-year contract extension under which Convergys will provide expanded human resources support services to Avaya's employees located in approximately 50 countries throughout EMEA, Asia Pacific, CALA (Caribbean and Latin America), and Canada.

Convergys will support Avaya from a state-of-the art employee service center in Guildford, UK. As part of this transaction, Convergys will hire many Avaya employees in Singapore, Australia, China, India, Israel, Japan, Russia, and Guildford and will be providing human resource services in nearly 20 languages.
