WOODBURY, N.Y. -- Comverse, a unit of Comverse Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: CMVT), and the world's leading supplier of software and systems enabling network-based multimedia enhanced communication services, today announced commercial availability of its Compact Multimedia Messaging Service Center (MMSC), an entry-level solution for smaller wireless operators. Compact MMSC has been recently deployed by two operators in Asia.

Compact MMSC allows smaller operators to quickly launch MMS services, through its low-cost hardware and special system configuration. Compact MMSC provides most of the benefits and functionality of the full-size Comverse MMSC, including leading content adaptation, video support and tools for MMS application integration. In addition to serving as a standalone network MMSC, it can also be installed side-by-side with third-party MMSC's to expand capacity of existing systems. Moreover, Comverse Compact MMSC is upgradeable to a full-size Comverse MMSC, ensuring future-proof high service availability and scalability.

"Our Compact MMSC, based on the same flexible XMF architecture as our high-capacity MMSC, provides smaller operators with a real opportunity to launch revenue-generating services with a relatively low investment," said Amit Mattatia, General Manager of the MMS Division at Comverse. "Deployments can be completed within a few weeks, underscoring Compact MMSC 's flexibility and our focus on tailoring our MMS products to best fit operator needs.
