CommProve announced the commercial availability of Netledge 3G Radio QOS
November 15, 2006
DUBLIN -- CommProve, the world-leading provider of mobile network radio Quality of Service (QoS) monitoring, today announced the commercial availability of "Netledge(tm) 3G Radio QoS". This new OSS product provides operators with maximum insight into W-CDMA performance, identifying coverage and configuration problems that cause revenue loss, unnecessary capital investment and customer dissatisfaction.
After months of operation in a live network, Netledge 3G Radio QoS is now available for global deliveries to all UMTS operators that wish to gain competitive advantage through the delivery of high quality 3G services. Netledge 3G Radio QoS enables increased capacity and improved service performance by identifying problems in the 3G radio network, including the effects of introducing HSDPA.
W-CDMA is the most complex radio system yet for mass communication, and legacy techniques, like drive testing, can not provide the comprehensive visibility required to identify configuration errors and optimise vital parameters. The vast majority of problems in 3G are found in the radio access network, yet in many networks this is the one area without a permanent QoS monitoring system. Netledge 3G Radio QoS is the only OSS that can collect 3G radio performance measurements network-wide, 24x7 and highlight the worst performing cells caused by a large number of customer-affecting issues.
"Optimal UMTS performance is a key challenge to operators in Western Europe, North America and Asia," explained Enrico Andreini, Founder and CTO at CommProve. "We have therefore targeted product features to quickly and accurately identify and report network glitches so operators can implement rapid optimisation solutions."
Andreini continued: "As 3G subscriptions increase, it is vital that operators proactively identify and resolve network issues that could increase their costs, hit their revenues and impact their subscribers' user experience."
Together with other products in the Netledge(tm) portfolio ("Netledge(tm) Abis Radio QoS" for GSM networks, "Netledge(tm) PS QoS" for GPRS and 3G packet service performance monitoring and "Quantiqa(tm)" for management of network element performance counters), CommProve has the most advanced solutions that work together to provide wireless operators with unique advantages in the competitive mobile market.
The addition of 3G radio QoS to the Netledge(tm) portfolio plays a particularly valuable role to network operators. By monitoring 2G, through 2.5G and 3G performance simultaneously, CommProve provides complete customer quality assurance, whichever network or service the subscriber is using. Netledge(tm) effectively monitors the complex inter-working and handovers as subscribers roam out of range of 3G services and need to rely on GSM/GPRS for voice and data services.
