WALTHAM, Mass. -- Colubris Networks, the leading global provider of intelligent wireless LANs (WLANs) for enterprises and service providers, today announced the appointment of Rob Scott as president and chief executive officer. This news follows the company’s third consecutive quarter of record revenues, which is based on preliminary first quarter results. Scott will also join Colubris’ Board of Directors and assume his duties on April 9.

Scott brings more than 27 years of outstanding leadership experience to his new position at Colubris. Most recently, Scott was president and CEO of Xelor Software, where he established the company’s U.S. headquarters and launched its new software solution for IP telephony and voice over IP service quality management.

“Rob’s proven leadership and talent in working with high-growth companies make him an exceptional asset to Colubris, which is growing at a rapid pace,” said Colubris Board Chairman William Seifert, Prism VentureWorks. “Colubris has established itself as a first-rate supplier of innovative wireless solutions and superior services to customers and channel partners worldwide. With his deep networking industry experience, Rob will help the company build upon its unique position in the industry, further accelerate growth and maximize the exciting opportunity in the WLAN market.”

Prior to Xelor, Scott served as president and CEO at IPeria, a provider of network-based voice messaging applications. Before IPeria, Scott was chairman and co-founder of Octave Communications, which was later acquired by Voyant Technologies in January 2003 and subsequently sold to Polycom. Scott also held senior management positions at companies including CrossComm, Harris Adacom, ONET (sold to Siemens), MultiLink (sold to PictureTel) and Motorola/Codex.

“Colubris is experiencing strong demand for its optimized WLAN switching solutions from enterprises and service providers alike,” said Scott. “Industry analysts and market pundits consider Colubris to be in an ideal position to benefit from the next wave of WLAN adoption – 802.11n. With a winning strategy, an acclaimed technology and an unbeatable team, I am confident we will expand Colubris’ already impressive footprint in the intensifying WLAN market.”
