CoAdna introduces 1x12 and 1x16 WSS modules

SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- CoAdna Photonics, Inc., a leading supplier of dynamic modules for ROADM and WXC applications, today announced the introduction of two new Liquid Crystal-based modules – Wavelength Selective Switches (WSS 1x12 and 1x16) that enable system providers to build flexible and intelligent optical networks cost-effectively. The WSS 1x12 will be showcased at CoAdna’s OFC/NFOEC’07 Booth #2855 at Anaheim Convention Center, Anaheim, CA, March 27-29, 2007.

CoAdna LightFlow™ Platform of Products

The CoAdna patented and Telcordia qualified LightFlow™ platform enables a broad range of products to address the ROADM market. The Liquid Crystal-based LightFlow™ platform has no moving parts, providing high reliability and long lifetime. The platform includes Telcordia qualified products such as the Dynamic Channel Equalizer/Blocker (DCEB), Wavelength Selective Switch (WSS) 4x1, 1x4, 8x1, 1x8 and the new 1x9, 1x10, 1x12, and 1x16 modules. The WSS modules offer excellent performance with integrated functionalities of demuxing, hitless switching, power balancing, and muxing in a small footprint, remote configurability via embedded firmware and software, scalability, and very low power consumption. The scalability is demonstrated in the announcement of two new high port count WSS modules, up to the WSS 1x16.
