LOS ANGELES -- Greater China Photonic Solutions (GCPS), a consortium that offers the first China-based integrated component and subsystem supply chain for communications companies, is introducing itself to the U.S. market at the 2004 OFC Conference. GCPS allows communications companies to minimize costs and ensure quality standards by creating a single group of industry leaders to work with customers. The GCPS consortium was founded by Arasor Corporation, which is announcing the establishment of its production and testing facilities in the Nansha IT Park in Guangzhou, China, in the heart of the Pearl River Delta.

The following GCPS members are represented at the consortium's booth:

  • Arasor Corporation -- Developer and manufacturer of communications integrated circuits, components, and subsystems that collectively revolutionize wired and wireless communications

  • AocTel Inc. -- Manufacturer of fiber, fiber cable, and optical subcomponents

  • Browave Corporation -- Provider of OEM and ODM services for passive and active optical components

  • Comcore Optical Technologies, Inc. -- Manufacturer of passive optical components

  • Ningbo Yunsheng Optical Communication Technology, Inc. -- Manufacturer of fiber optic connectors, jumpers, and outside-plant fiber optic distribution subsystems

  • Sinoceramics, Inc. -- Developer and manufacturer of optical and electrical materials and components

Nansha IT Park in Guangzhou, China, is represented at the GCPS booth by Chen Mingde, vice mayor of Guangzhou, and other officials. Guangzhou has emerged as a leading center of photonics R&D, production, and testing, and the park is at the center of an area that accounts for 40 percent of China's spending in telecommunications.
