SAN JOSE, Calif. -- New Focus, Inc. (Nasdaq: NUFO), a leading supplier of innovative fiber optic products for next-generation optical networks under the Smart Optics for Networks(TM) brand, today announced that Dr. Milton Chang, chairman of the board, will step down effective immediately. R. Clark Harris, a board member of New Focus for over two years, has been elected to serve as chairman of the board. Dr. Chang is leaving the board of New Focus to dedicate time to his new venture, iNCUBIC. Dr. Chang will continue to make himself available to New Focus and assumes the title of founder and retired chairman of the company. "We want to thank Milton for his tremendous contributions over the company's eleven year history. I greatly appreciate the insights and assistance he has given me and other members of the company," said Ken Westrick, president and chief executive officer of New Focus.
