Cellcom deploys Comverse platform to enable launch of i-mode wireless data service

NEW YORK -- Comverse, a unit of Comverse Technology, Inc. (NASDAQ: CMVT), and the world’s leading supplier of software and systems enabling network-based multimedia enhanced communication services, today announced that Cellcom, Israel’s leading mobile operator, has selected Comverse’s i-mode® Platform to launch i-mode service, opening a new world of content and email services to subscribers. Cellcom selected Comverse to provide a content and messaging platform that supports the i-mode environment. The platform will be fully integrated with existing components and can support current and future messaging services.
