Malaysian mobile operator selects First Hop's Wireless Broker to enhance the delivery of browsing and multimedia services for its subscribers

HELSINKI -- First Hop announced that Celcom,Malaysia's leading mobile communications provider, has selected First Hop©Wireless Broker(tm) to enhance the delivery of browsing and multimediaservices for its subscribers. First Hop's solution has significantlyincreased the browsing capacity for Celcom to help the operator manage thegrowth of this increasingly popular mobile service delivery channel.

Celcom will deploy the First Hop Mobile Traffic Management Solution acrossthe network allowing it to meet the challenges of high capacity browsingtraffic and enhancing multimedia control capabilities. First Hop's solutionintegrates smoothly with all the popular WAP and HTTP based browsing,download and picture messaging services.

Celcom will benefit from easy provisioning of new browsing services,holistic management of the service portfolio, and implementation of new,innovative and flexible charging models. The solution allows services to berun over WML, xHTML and MMS, e.g. Java downloads, ring tones, andmultimedia, via a uniform service delivery architecture, with furthercapabilities for multimedia filtering, transcoding integration and flexibleaccess control.
