SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- California Eastern Laboratories, NEC¹s long-time (since1962) domestic sales and marketing partner, will be displaying a number of new NEC fiber optic laser and detector modules at the upcoming OFC Conference in Los Angeles.
Featured will be two new Transmit (TOSA) and Receive (ROSA) optical subassemblies designed for use in XENPAK, XPAK, X2 and XFP modules for 10G SONET, Ethernet and Fibre Channel.
The NX8341 Series TOSAs feature a 1310nm laser that¹s fabricated using an Al oxidation-free all-selective MOPVE process without semiconductor etching. They combine outstanding performance over temperature with low current operation. Single-ended and differential models with 25 ohm matching are available.
The new NX3311 Series PIN+TIA ROSAs combine high sensitivity, high overload characteristics, and wide dynamic range with AC-coupled differential output.
Both TOSA and ROSA can be ordered with either LC or SC receptacles that feature a fiber-to-laser design that eliminates optical alignment problems and ensures a fixed optical coupling. CEL will be running demonstrations throughout the show.
Also on display (Booth 2329) will be:
A new series of 2.5G APD and PIN detector modules with integrated 3.3V low-noise GaAs transimpedance amplifier (TIA). They¹re available in coax packages for Metro and Access networks, or in low cost ROSA packages for SFF and SFP transceivers.
A new series of low cost uncooled lasers designed to serve the 2.5G CWDM Metro Access market in CAN, coax and TOSA packages. Central wavelength tolerance is just ±2nm, plus they offer a wide 20 to +85°C temperature range for outdoor applications. They¹re available in eight ITU-compliant CWDM wavelengths from 1470nm to 1610nm. Other wavelengths are available by request.
A new series of 2.5G and 10G MQW DFB laser diode modules with integrated EA modulator, Fabry-Perot Etalon filter, and two photodiodes. They feature low dispersion penalty, low modulation voltage, and low power consumption
New10G 1550nm Electro-Absorption Laser Modules with Internal Driver IC for DWDM systems and 10G transponders. They feature a miniature, MSA-supported 19-pin metal ceramic package.
Two new 2.5G directly modulated laser diode modules with an extended temperature range for CATV and Metro transmission.
The industry¹s smallest 10G APD Detector Module. It features AC-coupled differential output and an integrated 3.3V low-noise GaAs transimpedance amplifier (TIA).
