C&W Partners With VSNL
Cable & Wireless teams up with VSNL to offer managed global connectivity services in India under the Tata Indicom brand name

MUMBAI, India -- Cable & Wireless and Videsh Sanchar Nigam Limited (VSNL) have announced a partnership for Indian corporate customers.
The managed global connectivity services include Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM), Frame Relay, Secure Dial, Multi protocol label switching-based Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network with Quality of Service (IP-VPN QoS) and Managed Private Line (MPL). Cable & Wireless branded services will now be offered in India under the Tata Indicom brand name.
Corporate customers in India can now seamlessly access the Cable & Wireless global network through VSNL’s existing domestic and international access infrastructure. Global network nodes have been set up in Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai to facilitate this access. The joint network put in place has diverse redundant connectivity using different cables on both the eastern and western routes out of India.
The number of IT and IT–enabled services (ITES) companies with global operations are rapidly increasing in the country and so is their requirement for a highly efficient and redundant international network. The C&W-VSNL alliance aims to address this growing need for high-speed global connectivity for services such as voice, data, multimedia, videoconferencing and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP).
With this partnership, Cable & Wireless offers its customers wider coverage in India as well as seamless connectivity to the Cable & Wireless global network in 80 countries across the world. Customers can now benefit from simplified connectivity, as well as an industry-leading range of value-added service options and features.
