WASHINGTON, D.C. -- BT Broadcast Services (Broadcast Services) has completed i-View, a dedicated digital fiber network that creates a "virtual global teleport" for broadcasters, linking the company's domestic and international infrastructure. The i-View Fiber Network accommodates broadcasters with a reliable, flexible network for both point-to-point occasional use and permanent contribution services from Broadcast Services' media centers in Los Angeles(1) and Washington, D.C. and point of presence in New York to its facilities in London and Paris. Augmenting Broadcast Services' global satellite infrastructure, this bi-directional network provides seamless digital turnaround services, allowing for the delivery of first generation broadcast-quality video. According to Jon Romm, general manager of BT North America Broadcast Services, "The value of the i-View Fiber Network is its flexibility and ability for expansion. The networks' flexibility and built-in redundancy allows our customers a choice bit rates, 8Mbit/s or 15Mbit/s for their transmission requirements and combined with our unrivalled space capacity and global facilities we are able to create customized products and services for our customers. This enables us to offer the type of quality service that has put us in the forefront of being a key service provider." BT Broadcast Services
