IRVINE, Calif. -- Broadcom Corporation (Nasdaq:BRCM - news) today announced with deep regret the death of one of its pioneering board members, Myron S. Eichen, on July 2, 2001 in Del Mar, Calif. Mr. Eichen, an adviser to Broadcom since its founding in 1991, and a member of its Board of Directors since February 1998, was one of the world's most respected and admired technology entrepreneurs. Among his accomplishments, Mr. Eichen founded Brooktree Corporation (now a division of Conexant Systems Inc.) and served as its CEO and Chairman from 1981 to 1987, and Chairman from 1987 to 1990."Myron Eichen was a profound and significant inspiration to me in the co-founding of Broadcom," said Dr. Henry T.
